Purpose. The Tactical Air Control Party Tactical Standard Operating Procedure (TACP TACSOP) is prepared under the direction of the Commanding Officer, Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1). This document standardizes USMC specific Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) for the integration of aviation functions within the mission of the ground force commander. The TACP TACSOP focuses on specific areas where a common framework is critical between the TACP, aviation units, and the supported ground element. All procedures within are in accordance with the associated doctrine.
Applicability. This Standard Operating Procedure applies to all Active and Reserve Component Marine Corps Fire Support personnel that are involved in the application and integration of USMC Fire Support Assets.
Scope. This SOP addresses areas of USMC Specific fires employment that involve the application of air-to- ground systems. It expands portions of existing doctrine to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and lethality of the Fleet Marine Force.
