Summary. This pamphlet provides the performance measures for the Expert Soldier Badge tasks.
Applicability. This pamphlet applies to all Soldiers and commissioned officers in the Regular Army, Army National Guard, and U.S. Army Reserve, except those in enlisted career management fields 11, 18, 68 and officer areas of concentration Infantry, Special Forces, or Medical because they compete for the Expert Infantryman Badge or Expert Field Medical Badge.
The ESB demonstrates individual Soldier competencies and abilities to perform Skill Level 1 Warrior Tasks and brigade commander-selected tasks. Training and testing are expected to be tough, realistic, and mission focused. All who meet the standards will be awarded the Expert Soldier Badge. All Soldiers, NCOs, Officers, and Warrant Officers are eligible to compete for the ESB except those in the Infantry, Special Forces, and Medical Career Management fields (CMFs 11, 18 or 68).
This book is a “Mini” (half the size of a piece of paper).
A popular size to carry anywhere (briefcase, large pocket, purse) but the print is large enough for easy reading. The binding is with coil, allowing easy flipping of pages without jamming.
The color covers are laminated for weather protection with black and white inside printing.
