Dated 15 March 2019 with Change 1 dated 14 December 2020
Training circular (TC) 3-04.3 is designed for commanders, master gunners (MGs), and trainers of Army aviation units and outlines a standardized, progressive program that trains weapon system proficiency through the conduct of aerial gunnery tables. This TC provides principles and techniques for the individual, crew, team, platoon, and company to engage and destroy enemy targets efficiently in unified land operations.
This publication applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard/the Army National Guard of the United States, and the United States Army Reserve (USAR).
This publication outlines AH-64, UH-60, CH-47, and unmanned aircraft system (UAS) GTs designed for the individual company to attain and sustain tactical gunnery proficiency.
Tasks, conditions, and standards listed are based on a thorough analysis of gunnery engagement factors and actual suppression, neutralization, and/or kill probabilities of United States aviation weapons systems against expected threat targets. All aviation units are encouraged to make recommendations to upgrade the tasks, conditions, and standards in this TC.
Introduction
The aviation gunnery program is the primary vehicle through which lethality is built. A thorough, objective, inspectable program (coupled with a rigorous survivability plan) will result in confident, competent, creative warfighters capable of winning the nations wars.
This TC is a guide for commanders to build and implement live fire training consistent with their leadership vision. Command guidance is imperative to the operations officer and MG to produce individual, crew, team and collective training models.
