TC 21-305-7 Training Program For The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) – 2020 – Mini size

This Training Circular (TC) provides standardized driver training and testing recommendations for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) family of vehicles (FOV).  It familiarizes the novice and apprentice driver with operation of the JLTV. This TC provides guidance needed for crew coordination, focusing on the correlating responsibilities of the driver and assistant driver for safe operation of the JLTV FOV.

This Training Circular (TC) provides the JLTV FOV operators with the tools and knowledge needed to safely operate the JLTV in all driving situations – administrative, training, and tactical. Example written and hands-on performance tests and listings of supporting training materials for all JLTV are also available in this TC.

TC 21-305-7 provides leaders with the tools they need to produce quality drivers. Leaders must emphasize driver training because of the high center-of-gravity, high ground pressure, large size, balloon- style tires, and reduced visibility associated with the JLTV. Because of this, the JLTV demands excellent driver skills and knowledge beyond that of most tactical wheeled vehicles. JLTV operators must know how to operate vehicle equipment effectively in the most challenging environments. This TC provides JLTV vehicle operators with techniques to enhance their driving skills.
