This training circular (TC) provides a doctrinal framework for Special Forces (SF) Soldiers involved in tracking and countertracking operations.
Tracking, countertracking, and dog tracker team operations are basic and fundamental to many SF operations, whether offensive or defensive in nature. This TC describes and illustrates how to track, how to avoid being tracked, and of dog tracker teams are used. The Appendix provide SF Soldiers with sample tracking logs. This TC provides the basis for common SF tactical application used primarily in a rural environment and it briefly discusses urban tracking using dog teams.
This publication applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard, the Army National Guard of the United States, and the United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated.
TC 18-35 provides a doctrinal foundation for SF Soldiers, instructors, and planners involved in tactical tracking and countertracking requirements. TC 18-35 provides doctrine for all users within USASOC, but it is useful to other Services within the Department of Defense (DOD), joint, and intergovernmental audiences
This book is a “Mini” (half the size of a piece of paper).
A popular size to carry anywhere (briefcase, large pocket, purse) but the print is large enough for easy reading. The binding is with coil, allowing easy flipping of pages without jamming.
The color covers are laminated for weather protection with black and white inside printing.
(A BIG size version (8 1/2 inch by 11 inch, the same size as a regular sheet of paper) is on this website too)
