FM 3-01 is the Army-specific air and missile defense (AMD) publication outlining doctrinal AMD principles and guidelines. It describes how air defense artillery (ADA), the Army’s dedicated component for AMD, and its organizations prepare for and conduct operations. It presents the AMD roles in support of joint unified action operations and Army unified land operations, addressing offensive and defensive, stability, and defense support of civil authority’s tasks. FM 3-01 is the basis for curricula development in the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery School.
FM 3-01 addresses today’s operational environment which envisions threats to the Army and joint force that these forces have not faced in twenty-five years. In this environment, ADA units must adapt and prepare for large-scale combat operations in a highly contested air domain. FM 3-01 provides a doctrinal approach for ADA forces to fight future conflicts, explaining how the ADA echelons contribute to the four Army strategic roles: shape operational environments, prevent conflict, conduct large-scale ground combat, and consolidate gains.
This book is a “Mini” (half the size of a piece of paper).
A popular size to carry anywhere (briefcase, large pocket, purse) but the print is large enough for easy reading. The binding is with coil, allowing easy flipping of pages without jamming.
The color covers are laminated for weather protection with black and white inside printing.
(A BIG size version (8 1/2 inch by 11 inch, the same size as a regular sheet of paper) is on this website too)
