Introduction

Spectrum management operations enable and support the Army warfighting functions and are essential to commanders’ ability to exercise command and control throughout their assigned areas. Spectrum management enables electromagnetic spectrum access to support spectrum-dependent devices throughout a unit’s assigned area through frequency deconfliction, and resolution of electromagnetic interference.

Spectrum managers in the cyberspace electromagnetic activities section deconflict frequency use for electromagnetic warfare, providing awareness of potential spectrum conflict between spectrum-dependent devices and reducing the risk of frequency fratricide.
