ATP 3-39.34 is aligned with the Military Police Corps Regiment’s FM 3-39 and provides a doctrinal framework for military working dogs (MWDs) (patrol explosive detector dog, patrol explosive detector dog- enhanced, patrol drug detector dog, and mine detection dog). It provides techniques for the employment of military working dogs in support of Army operations.
The principal audience for ATP 3-39.34 is commanders, staffs, leaders, and MWD handlers who are responsible for planning, preparing, executing, and assessing MWD operations in support of Army operations.
ATP 3-39.34 applies to Active Army, Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States and United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated.
