ATP 2-19.4 provides techniques for intelligence support to brigade combat team (BCT) operations. The techniques in this manual apply across the range of military operations and all echelons within the infantry, armored, and Stryker BCTs.
To effectively conduct (plan, prepare, execute, and assess) operations, BCT commanders require intelligence about the enemy and other conditions of the operational environment (OE). Intelligence assists commanders in visualizing the OE, organizing forces, and executing operations to achieve the desired tactical objective or end state.
The principal audience for ATP 2-19.4 is commanders, staffs, and Soldiers who are responsible for planning, preparing, executing, and assessing BCT intelligence organization tasks. ATP 2-19.4 serves as a reference for personnel developing doctrine material and force structure, institutional and unit training, and standard operating procedures for BCT intelligence cells, subordinate battalion intelligence cells, and the organic military intelligence (MI) company.
